Helloooo how’s everyone feeling this week? Over here, it’s been a terrible, trying week so far. Hence this being a day late. Forgive me, sweet friends. The energy on the streets feels like it’s on the brink of bubbling over into total mayhem. I’ve scarcely slept a wink in days. What a time! Despite the sleepless nights (the fault of my occasional temporary chaos brain), I do still find myself catching positive moments. Not here to bum anyone out, pinky promise. I don’t know about you, but my friends & I seem to be leaning hard into the dissociation these days. That’s not to say entirely turning a blind eye to the constant & daily changes happening around us at the moment, but for the sake of mental preservation, attempting to count blessings & focus on the positive parts of life. Yesterday it was just warm enough in New York to sit outside at our local pub & have a Guinness in the late afternoon without freezing our nips off. The combination of sunshine on my balm-lathered cheeks & my jolly baby doling out high fives to the crew of lads revived my tired spirit just enough to nourish me mentally through the end of the week. I hope. To save the brain from being in a twenty-four seven panic spiral, I am trying to place emphasis on celebrating the sheer privilege of freedom, of small joys.
